Last week trip with my coworkers to the range organized by my friend who is Polish Armed Forces NSR NCO and popping down range few hundred rounds from Glock 17, AKMS and wz. 96 Beryl AR put me in mood to reflect on perception of guns in our society.
Aside of americans gun fetish and place of firearms in their society let s talk abaut the image of firearms in popculture.
Everyone knows that good guys use MP-5 and AR-15, bad guys use UZI, MAC-10, TEC-9, and AK and both sides use Desert Eagle because it looks cool, right
Even among gun enthusiasts there is huge ammount of misconception, half truths, urban legends and simple BS abaut various gun related subjects.
I ve witnessed it even on this forum observing discussion between Kao and SilverGirl regaring incompatibility between .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO ammo.
Answer is to seek authoritative information, and you don t have to get mechanical engineering degree to enjoy good books abaut guns, and good books abaut guns don t have to be boring.
One of the best books abaut guns I ve red recently is: "The MacMan: Gordon B. Ingram and his Submachine Guns" by Frank Iannamico.
It s a story abaut businessmen, antroponours, gun designers, spies, mercenaries, international intrigue and how the genius engeneer Gordon Ingram inspired by immortal badass veteran and international mercenary Rudolph Bolter designed submachine gun that become stuff of legends and iconic symbol of the disco era.
Did I told you that I love MAC 10?

For everyone that says 7.62 game shop system is unrealistic.

This gun is factory grade, mass produced and looks cool, shoots 9x19 mm para and accepts mags from UZI.
Nobady knows who manufactures it, ideal weapon for criminals and terrorists.
Maby it s produced in South Africa, maby in Croatia - I would bet Croatia, probably using machines, tools and production lines for cool, iconic croatian constructions like Agram 2000, Pleter M91 or Zagi M91 or ERO (croatian copy of UZI).
So if you hawn t seen mystery, secret SMG that no one knows where it came from or who produces it in large numbers here s link to articles:
